Lucy Hughes

Vet / Ophthalmologist

Lucy graduated from the University of Cambridge in 2006, and after two years in mixed practice, joined Shires in 2008.  Her main clinical interest is in veterinary ophthalmology, and she spends most of her time at Shires treating dogs and cats with eye problems.

Lucy has completed several post graduate qualifications over the years and is an RCVS Advanced Practitioner in Veterinary Ophthalmology.  She is happy to accept ophthalmology referrals at our Stone branch.  Lucy also enjoys teaching ophthalmology and when not at Shires, can be found at Nottingham Veterinary School where she is involved in both undergraduate and postgraduate teaching.

Away from work, Lucy has two dogs (a naughty terrier and a much better-behaved Labrador) and enjoys walking, gardening and spending time with her young family.
